L2O
2300 North Lincoln Park West
773 868 0002

Serving dinner only, L2O (el-two-oh) is Chef Laurent Gras (Fifth Floor in SF, Peacock Alley in The Waldorf=Astoria) and Richard Melman’s new Lincoln Park seafood spot. Done in a very unsual fashion with Spanish octopus from Galicia, Spain, codfish from Maine and hirame from the Hokkaido and Kinki prefectures in Japan, this menu is a bit like a trip around the world. There is a la carte but the best way to do is likely the tasting menus which might include sashimi style shimaaji cured with red miso and soy salt; gold egg yolk, kampachi, Kurobuta pork and sake; and lobster with Tahitian vanilla, chanterelles and watermelon radishes. There’s three private dining areas here and one very special nook which we imagine being the future setting for many a proposal.
