Return of Freds at Barneys

It's been a hot second since we sent you a newsletter, right? So busy these last years what with print articles for the Financial Times and Hollywood Reporter and our consulting to governments, publishing and a slew of others about the future. You'll see that Syl wrote a book, Disrobed, and of course if you follow us on HipGuide's socials, you'll know the book won an award. We are also busy redesigning aspects of the look and layout of HipGuide. It has been 24 years since we were the first on the block with where to go and what to do, so seems time, hah!

Speaking of flashbacks of fond things. The Louis Vuitton 200 Trunks 200 Visionaries exhibition brought back Freds at Barneys at 660 Madison Avenue in New York. Wow. From now until December 31, you can have lunch, or aperitifs and snacks, at the re-imagined spot. Book it before it's gone. The menu includes the most famous dishes (the chopped chicken salad, the tuna tartare, a cone of the Belgian fries) and, we suspect, will be accompanied by the ever-famous people watching. It will not come with the legendary warehouse sale but with the nostalgia for all things 90s under way, this pop up could not be better timed.

If we don't see you at lunch, you can also stay in touch with Syl on Instagram. In the Highlights tab marked "HipGuide", we post our latest recommendations in New York, Los Angeles and other spots! And hopefully you'll come to a book event or talk (we will announce on social) and stay tuned while we re-imagine HipGuide's look for the new era.

p.s. this wasn't an ad, we just thought it had been a long-time since we said hi!
