Found 66 Great Eastern Street 011 44 207 739 2500 If one stumbles into a restaurant by accident, that it is called Found makes it all seem like some Mulholland Drive-esque movie. But that is in fact what happened. We discovered this spot by accident and think it's not too bad if you find yourself in the area. Though it's priced just as high as all the upmarket restaurants that keep popping up on this street, the modern European cooking (smoked eel pie 'n' mash; rump steak with oyster beignets; lentil, spinach, and onion confit salad) is interesting enough as are the skull-happy decorations. Interesting enough to attract diners such as Tracey Emin. And us. But in that regard, we wonder if it can last as it's somewhere in between the Hoxton of old and new; it's a little too pricey for the club kids while at the same time not being weird enough for them. After all, who doesn't own a skull chandelier? |
