How fitting it is that the hotel that has been housing rock stars since 1963 has had a face lift of its own. How....L.A. Having been home to too many celebs to count...Aerosmith, Al Pacino, Blues Traveller, Branford Marsalis, Quentin Tarantino, Bryan Adams, Cowboy Junkies, Crowded House, Eminem, Foreigner, Erykah Badu, Catherine Deneuve, Genesis, Gloria Estefan, Uma Thurman, James Taylor, Led Zeppelin, Mary J. Blige, Sting, U2, Pearl Jam, Rush, Shania Twain, and every major model, Christy, Naomi, Elle, Shalom, Helena, Bridget, Cindy (phew we're out of breath)...owners George and Mark Rosenthal, who pioneered the boutique hotel concept in this town have given their classic spot a new feel with designer Oliva Villaluz. Although the style incorporating trend and touches from the 30s to the 50s is luxurious, the nicest part are the rooms' focus on extended stays, with their dedicated dining spaces, wet bars, and separate sitting rooms with dressing areas. Bar 1200 (formerly The Whiskey) on site of course remains a classic as well.
