Tokio cracks us up. For all those folks who just never got over their Lost in Translation fixation, this is the place to come. A fantastic Japanese restaurant with a rock garden, traditional tatami room and a sushi bar backed by Buddhist prayer altars called Tokonomas, it’s somehow also a karaoke bar. It’s Pan-Asian pop for all of Paul Devitt (Star Shoes, Beauty Bar, Coral Room in New York) and his pal writer/producer/director Chris Weitz’s fans (About a Boy, American Pie). Third owner Johnny Nixon and designer Chase Marshall rounds out this crew - who’s following apparently loves both love the traditional and 60s mod. A bonus for the would-be singers who don’t love raw fish, tuna burger with salsa on a rice bun is also on the menu.
