Ketchup
8590 Sunset Boulevard
877 490 4668

It's all about the scene at Ketchup. What did you expect from a spot named after a condiment where Tara Reid is an investor? Ducasse? We think not. So if you're okay with the $175 bill and a terrible waitstaff who push drinks on you (it's got to be hell on those in AA when the freebie martini sampling cart comes around), then you are going to love the cafeteria scene here. Okay, so the food is not quite that bad (the scallops are surprisingly good and we love the ice cream sandwiches, skip the beer chicken) and the gossip possibly not quite as salacious as the caf during junior high, but it all does have a school-feeling since the focus is on the fries with, what else, five different ketchups (classic, mango, ranch, maple and the winner chipotle.) Bottom line? Extremely enjoyable people watching (courtesy of The Dolce Group) that we're convinced gets better if you take recommendations from the wine sommelier (you'd be amazed how much vino goes well with sweet potato, garlic-parmesan and cajun spuds.)
