A lounge at the legendary Delano hotel, this underground spot is two rooms with awesome live jazz. Not just marketed as something different than the usual SoBe house scene, it actually is. Done by Kravitz Design, with bronzed mirrored ceilings, Swarovski chandeliers, and a Schimmel lucite grand piano; the room is meant to be a space just like the room Lenny says his aunt had where everyone played, hung out, and listened to music. “Where all the fun was had, called the Florida room,” says Kravitz. “The rich musical history of Miami Beach. The Beatles, James Brown and Frank Sinatra all spent time here.” And indeed the piano is identical to the one he has at home. A space meant to be reminiscent of the old piano lounges in the resorts back in the 50s in Florida and Cuba, even when switching to late night DJs, the Florida Room remains a great antidote to the club-ish mood that has made this city the home of the Winter Music Fest slash Ultra.
