You know we don't just kiss tushie round here; we didn't USE to like Morgans. Too much smoke with no ventilation, a dark Silence of the Lambs basement feel, and that oppressive long table that made it impossible to navigate the room. But no more. Schrager's new redesign for Morgans is perfect. It's the space cowboy look of the bar at Hudson but much more intimate. Candles you won't knock over in the walls, warm lanterns so you can see all the babes in the room, squishy sofas and divans in pristinely clean velvet. A wait staff so nice to you, your mother isn't this kind. A munchies menu with oysters so fresh they squeal. Darling scenesters like the Billy Idol look-alike in the corner pouting with his girlfriend. And an opening with unpretentious celebs like Heather Matarazzo. This is New York nightlife.
