Though Ava opened in 04, a membership card still delivers a temporary urban sanctuary to those who can't find the time to get away from the midtown everyday. Open at 5 on weekdays and at 6 on the weekend, the summertime- only L shaped roof deck has a swimming pool-feel courtesy of Mobb Design's blue, gold and white décor but remains free of the risky accoutrements found at other roof decks (open flames, open water) that could inhibit one's partying joy after a few drinks. During less friendly weather, the penthouse lounge serves as shelter from the storms.
