At the Dream Hotel, lobby lounge Rm.Fifty5, located just to the east of the reception desk (they seem to know how much you might need a cocktail after those harrowing taxis from the airport), is a very modern interpretation of French design, with Dorian Webb Venetian amber rose and deep blue glass chandeliers, embossed paper covered columns, sixties- inspired glass mirrors and faux forest murals. Host to such events as the Rebecca Taylor Fashion Week après party, it's the haunt of the moment for socialites Byrdie Bell and Anisha Lakhani and various Victoria's Secret models such as Selita Ebanks, providing a much needed shot of chic to midtown.
