Of the hundreds of salons we've been to over the years, this one is the best in our entire guide. Quietly located on the second floor facing Grand Central's spectacular side view, this salon can give you the hair you always wanted. For those who are into efficiency, Angelo, his creative director Meaghan and four other stylists give rapid, expert cuts and spot-on colour. For those who are in a rush, perfect manicures are done simultaneously and everything from the purse hooks to the simple decor reflects their no-fuss delivery. But where this salon really excels is in its thoughtful care for those who need more. Whether it's hair loss due to alopecia or chemotherapy or any of a myriad reasons, this salon has a private consultation area, private waiting room, and private shampoo, cut and extension stations. Sensitivity is the name of the game here, and whether men or women are facing medical conditions or simply bald patches, the gentle hand-holding as well as superior extensions done here make them the top in the field. There's even two ventilators (wig-makers) on staff, diligently working in the back. Not that more needed to be done, but Angelo has also launched his own line of mixed boar and flexible plastic brushes (at half the price of the market leader) and a select range of styling products, such as the detangler which does just what it says. We couldn't love this spot more.
