When no one was going out downtown, Jonathan Morr (BondSt) made it hot with Theo and APT all at once. Now when French is questionable, he's gambling on the truest of French. An old world place around truffles. If you've never hightailed it to Chez Bruno (we have), near Lorgues in Southern France, you are missing out. Well until now. Jonathan flew a crew to France and brought the spirit of Bruno's cooking back in a co- created menu, that includes truffled risotto and tarte tatin with vanilla truffled ice cream. Nothing beats the patio dining at the original (drive about an hour North from Sainte Maxime, which is across from St Tropez), but Spring Street comes close.
