How much do we love Indochine. At their 20 year anniversary, it was still as amazing as day one. And none of the imitations that have opened measure up. Coming for the more traditional such as spring rolls, steamed Vietnamese ravioli (banh cuon), and grilled prawn on vermicelli (served classic Vietnamese style with lettuce, mint leaves and nuoc mam sauce) to the more adventurous new dishes such as the tilapia; everyone from the neighbourhood regulars to the celebs are still packing this place to the gills. (Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson the second to last time we were there. And Adriana Lima the last time.) We loved most the Vietnamese bouillabaisse with mussels, scallops, and shrimp, as well as the roasted banana dessert served wrapped in sticky rice with tapioca.
