Oola Restaurant calls themselves an American Bistro specialising in "San Francisco" cuisine; we love that since we had no idea there was such a thing. What they mean is things they consider SF classics – seafood chowder etc and all created from organic produce, meats, local artisan cheeses and ingredients from the Bay Area. Chef Ola Fendert (Plouf, Chez Papa) turns out such dishes as pear and cheese with black pepper gastric, corn and asiago soufflé, a fig tart, oyster martinis and an apple crisp that are hits with everyone including our source. Most importantly the kitchen serves till 1 a.m.
