44 and Gay Too Old for Dancing?
Q:I'm a 44 year old gay guy in good shape and pretty hip and not scary looking. Actually fairly good looking. I've been out of the club scene for over a year, trying to clean up my act in a sober way. Lately I've been getting the bug to go dancing with my shirt off from Sunday AM to Sunday PM. I miss the music and the scene. I just don't want to go out and look like somebody brought their uncle along.

A:You are never too old to go dancing.
Old is a frame of mind.
When you start thinking old, then you will be old.
But not a second before.

You were part of the old Body and Soul scene, it sounds like.
Why not try Kenny Kenny and Amanda Lepore's party at Plaid? We think it happens on Thursdays and while more sceney than your old stomping ground, is quite fun.
Also the new Spirit Club might be right up your alley because of their claim to a devotion towards purity in body while appealing to the groove in all of us.

Lastly but not leastly on the fashion commentary, we ain't gonna lie, when Keith Richards ripped off his shirt in front of us, we bust out laughing, but dude, you ain't Grandpa Age at 44! (Keith on the other hand......woooweeeee, put on some clothes!) You, however, have some time! So work out, keep it looking tight, and if you're not sure about baring it all, maybe something a little body conscious while not body exposed is the ticket. Even a straightie like me appreciates a good looking gay man shaking it on the dance floor; see you there!
