Much like the Oracle, HipGuide answers visitors' tough questions here.

Hip Sports
Q:I just wanted to ask u something about sports;
What sport(s) is (are) cool? Extreme sports, snowboarding, soccer, rugby,
american football, golf, tennis, basketball, volleyball, handball,
gymnastics, triathlon, fitness, or maybe curling and Jeux de boulles?

I myself play volleyball and here in Belgium (yeah, that little country in
Europe) it's all about soccer, soccer, soccer and ok, also some tennis
(with the girls Justin Henin and Kim Clijsters). So I'm pretty much hoping
you're not goin to say soccer, cause, to be honest, I DON'T LIKE IT! Which
is really close to a sin for a Belgian guy in his twenty's, or a big
question mark before and after your s*xual preferences.
Anyway, I really love ur site, great inspiration for our next trips. Oh
yeah, maybe you could ad some new European cities to your catalogue, cause
Europe is more then Paris and London. Remember Barça, Rome, Amsterdam,
Berlin, Vienna?

A:Is drinking a sport? JUST kidding. Drink responsibly blah blah.

I asked around to my crew and got blank stares and snarfing of their latte of the day. But it came down to this.

We all agreed that:

1. Triathlons are the it thing right now. Even if the organisers seem to be typically disorganised. They're the next frontier after marathons and the Tour de France.
2. Petanque is oddly in. Actually anything that old men used to do involving throwing balls or throwing stuff at balls outside under a tree, with a pastis or a grappa waiting on a table, is chic.
3. And yes, sorry, soccer is it. Esp since even magazine teams now get together and play while DJs provide ambiance.

But remember, just cause it's "in" doesn't mean ya gotta do it.
Me, I'm still waiting for floor hockey to become a national rage.

p.s. and yes, after a momentary blip, dodgeball is now out again.
p.p.s. OF COURSE we know that Europe is more than London and Paris. I mean, it's at least Majorca. Maybe Capri too. If you're nice to me, MAYBE Bruxelles also.
BUT we don't have clients there yet - and therefore not correspondants yet - so hey, send us a client and we'll get your city up!
